Job Summary
The Store Officer will be responsible for efficient inventory management, record-keeping, and the proper storage and handling of materials, tools, and equipment. This role is key to ensuring an uninterrupted supply of items needed for ongoing mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and equipment in line with company protocols
- Maintain accurate stock records using ERP or inventory systems
- Issue materials and tools based on authorized requisitions
- Monitor movement of goods and maintain bin cards and ledger books
- Support in loading/unloading and stock arrangement
- Liaise with procurement, production, and finance for smooth operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the store area
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate reordering to prevent stockouts
- Conduct stock audits and reconcile inventory
- Ensure safe and compliant storage with appropriate labeling
Requirements
- OND, HND, or B.Sc. in Store Management, Logistics, Business Admin, or related field
- 3 - 5 years of storekeeping experience (preferably in mining or industrial settings)
- Strong knowledge of inventory and storekeeping systems
- Familiarity with ERP software or tools like SAP, Tally, etc.
- Physically fit with attention to detail and safety practices
- Good communication and organizational skills
