FG Suspends Online Application for Paramilitary Recruitment Until July 21

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has officially announced a temporary suspension of the ongoing recruitment into key paramilitary agencies across Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Board’s Secretary, retired Major General Abdulmalik Jubril, explained that the decision to pause online applications was necessary to enhance the efficiency of the recruitment portal: recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng.
“This development will ensure that the portal accommodates the high level of applications while guaranteeing a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process,” said Maj.-Gen. Jubril.
Recruitment to Resume July 21
While the online application portal had initially been scheduled to open on July 2, and later shifted to July 14, the board has now fixed July 21 as the new date for resumption of applications.
This recruitment drive is part of the federal government’s recent move to inject over 30,000 new personnel into the paramilitary system. The affected agencies include:
- Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)
- Nigeria Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
- Federal Fire Service (NFS)
- Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS)
What Should Applicants Do in the Meantime?
Applicants are advised to:
- Remain calm and patient
- Avoid falling victim to fake recruitment sites
- Regularly check the official portal and CDCFIB website for updates
- Get their documents and details ready ahead of July 21
The board acknowledged the high level of interest from young Nigerians and reassured the public of a fair and transparent recruitment process.
