CDCFIB Extends Recruitment Application Deadline by One Week

CDCFIB Extends Deadline for 2025 Paramilitary Recruitment Application

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced a one-week extension for the ongoing 2025 recruitment exercise into the nation’s paramilitary services.

This update was officially shared in a press release signed by the Secretary to the Board, Maj. Gen. (Rtd) A. M. Jibril, and published via the Board’s verified Twitter handle on Friday, August 1, 2025. With this development, the new closing date for the application is now Monday, 11th August, 2025, replacing the previous deadline of Monday, 4th August, 2025.

Why the Deadline Was Extended

According to the Board, the decision to extend the application period was taken to give more Nigerians, especially those who may have faced technical or personal delays, ample time to complete their applications. It also serves to ensure fairness, wider participation, and accessibility for all eligible applicants. Also, remember that the portal was down for few days, so it would be fair to make up for those days.

CDCFIB also used the opportunity to remind the public that the application process is completely free and the only official portal for registration is https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng. Applicants are advised to avoid any third-party websites or individuals who claim to facilitate the process in exchange for money.

Application Portal Yet to Reflect the New Date

Interestingly, after spotting the extension announcement on Twitter, we checked the CDCFIB recruitment portal to see if the new deadline had been updated. As of the time of writing this article (Saturday evening), no changes have been made to the application site. The portal still displays the old deadline of August 4, 2025.

However, it is expected that the necessary updates will reflect on the site sometime after the weekend. It’s not uncommon for government platforms to experience a delay in updating details across all channels.

For First-Time Applicants – Avoid Common Mistakes

If you’re just hearing about this recruitment or are yet to start your application, we strongly recommend that you first read our earlier article that breaks down the differences between the five agencies involved in this recruitment.

This is important because many applicants get confused, especially when they see a name like Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board and assume that it automatically covers applying to their desired agency like Nigeria Immigration Service or Nigeria Correctional Service.

Understanding the role of the Board and knowing how to properly apply to your target agency will help you avoid misapplication and disappointment.

Conclusion

With this new deadline extension, eligible applicants still have a full week to submit their applications. So take the time to gather your documents, fill in the correct details, and apply directly through the official portal.

If you’re ready to apply, or want to double-check that you’ve selected the right agency, head to https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng. And if you're still unsure, make sure to read our comprehensive guide to this recruitment exercise to clarify any confusion before submitting your application.
