Responsibilities

  • Support the optimization of total landing cost by ensuring cost-effective custom clearing processes through relationships with clearing agents, banks, and customs
  • Accurately calculate and ensure prompt payment of all import and export taxes
  • Review item HS codes, draft, and final assessments for correctness
  • Analyze key parameters (cost, safety, carrier availability) and suggest alternatives for improved efficiency
  • Provide stakeholders with periodic reports on shipment status
  • Review and analyze shipment status reports
  • Understand Incoterms and assess their impact on company risk and landed costs
  • Monitor vendor compliance with correct HS code applications
  • Evaluate clearing agents' performance based on SLA
  • Review and archive shipment-related documents and Final Exchange Control Documentation (FECD); transfer to relevant banks
  • Liaise with clearing agents to achieve KPIs, including shipment delivery, invoicing, and FECD submission
  • Ensure freighting activities comply with international and local regulations

Requirements

  • BSc/HND in a relevant field
  • 3–4 years of experience in freight or trade compliance
  • Strong knowledge of import/export regulations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in regulatory compliance and document handling
