We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Corporate Law & Board Matters Specialist

Location: Nigeria
Department: Legal

Objectives

  • To perform Company Secretarial duties and functions in NGML.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure qualitative legal opinion and advisory services on all environmental matters, compliance, policy, legislation, personnel issues with a view to managing the legal risk exposure of the company.
  • Develop legal framework for corporate relationships.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to the Board/Board Committees and MEXCOM on Board corporate governance issues.
  • Ensure all Management Executive Committee Meetings (MEXCOM) are organized.
  • Participate in all Management Executive Committee Meetings (MEXCOM).
  • Review minutes of Board/Board Committees and MEXCOM meetings.
  • Provide company Secretariat services.

Educational Qualification

  • First Degree in Law. Barrister at Law (BL) qualification is a must. Call to Bar is a must.
  • Master’s in Law or any other relevant post-graduate degree or professional qualification is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 9 years relevant post qualification experience
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry will be an added advantage.
  • Age Limit: 37 years

Competence:

  • Legal and solicitation skills.
  • Secretariat management skills.
  • Corporate Governance skills.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to corporate formation.
  • Knowledge of law relating to financing, mergers and acquisitions, securities, and compliance.
  • Business Acumen.
  • People Management Skills.
  • Knowledge of Oil and Gas Industry.
