Job Title: Northern Chief Accountant (Manufacturing)

Locations: Sokoto
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Manage all activities of the accounting department and allocate duties to ensure that all tasks are completed within prescribed timescales.
  • Ensure the Treasury Management and Banking functions operate in accordance with legislative, regulatory and organisational requirements.
  • Manage and monitor accounting procedures for compliance with all state and federal regulations,coordinate and facilitate external audit requirements.
  • Arrange and conduct training on accountancy or financial systems issues as required.
  • Provide guidance to other Accountants when needed.
  • Manage Complex reconciliations of income.
  • Reviewand analyze GLaccounts, Balance Sheet accounts reconciliation in addition to prepare month end Journal entries.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the annual revenue and capital budgets, monitoring of financial performance and completion of the annual accounts.
  • Streamlineoperational and administrative support functions by implementing changes to improve internal controls, save time and increase work productivity.
  • Carry out any other duties that are within the scope and grading of the position

Requirements

  • B.Sc / HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration, ICAN (added advantage)
  • 8-10 years proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisoror Finance Manager
  • Knowlege in using TALLY ERP 9 is a must
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite / ERP Tally, Odoo, Sage or Quickbooks Accounting Package
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to direct and supervise
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of Tax matters.
  • Must possess leadership, analytical, mathematical and problem solving skills
  • Must be residing in Sango-Ota.
